Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson's 2014 season officially ended when an arbiter ruled that Peterson will remain suspended until at least next April 15.
Peterson was suspended after being charged with felony child abuse in September for using a wooden switch to discipline his 4-year-old son in May.
The ruling means Peterson will forfeit checks totaling more than $4.1 million from the team's last six games. Peterson says he plans on appealing the ruling in federal court, and might even retire and pursue an Olympic track career instead.
