Fighting Irish football players KeiVarae Russell, DaVaris Daniels, Ishaq Williams and Kendall Moore are being held out of practice while the Notre Dame officials investigate "suspected academic dishonesty." University president, the Rev. John Jenkins, said there was evidence students had submitted papers and homework written for them by others but makes clear there is yet no judgement. The academic violations were first detected at the end of the summer session. The four players cannot compete until the conclusion of the investigation and the university honor code process due to potential violations. Russell is the Irish's best corner and Daniels their top returning receiver. Notre Dame will be without its top three wide receivers from one year ago (Jones and Niklas to NFL) if Daniels continues to be held out and the top returning receiver will be Chris Brown with 15 catches in 2013. The Fighting Irish might have a second straight season marred by academic misconduct violations.
