Jay Ratliff Out

The Cowboys won't be activating Jay Ratliff from the physically unable to perform list. Instead, Dallas just cuts the 32-year-old defensive tackle despite being so thin up front.

Injuries limiting Ratliff to just six games in 2012 and there's apparently some disagreement as to what's wrong with him. The Cowboys say Ratliff had surgery in the off-season for a sports hernia, but his agent says it's much worse than that. Still, Ratliff did attempt to go through the team's conditioning test at the start of training camp, only to suffer a hamstring injury. He's been doing his re-hab work on his own ever since.

The Cowboys actually save $625,000 on their salary cap for this season, but they will take a $6.9 million dollar hit in dead money in 2014.
