“Breakfast At The Ballpark” Highlights The Saturday Rangers Game

The Texas Rangers will set a franchise mark for the earliest home game start today when they play host to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The club moved the game to an 11:05 am start in an effort to avoid possible inclement weather in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area that could delay or even cancel the contest.

The Rangers come into the game on a five-game win streak, having beaten the Angels in the last two games, and sweeping a series with the Houston Astros before that. With the Tampa Bay Rays loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night, the Rangers (89-71) currently stand one game behind both the Cleveland Indians and the Rays (90-70), who are both tied for the two wild-card spots in the American League, with two games left to play in the regular season.

If all three teams end up tied for the two wild card spots, the Rays and Indians will play each other on Monday, with the loser playing the Rangers on Tuesday. The winner of both games will be the wild card representatives and play each other on Wednesday.

Derek Holland will get the start for this morning's game, opposite Garrett Richards for the Halos. The game will be carried on both Fox Sports Southwest, and FOX 4 in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
