Consensus Top 100
As the draft approaches, every team (and every draftnik) compiles a “Big Board” or a ranking of every player regardless of position. This serves as the basis for a team’s draft strategy and illustrates the options for trading up, down or taking the “best player available.” Below is my version of The Big Board known as the Consensus Top 100. I’ve compiled many of the leading analyst’s boards and averaged them out to show the consensus on a player’s evaluation. The dark lines show where the “draft tiers” lie as a jump in the consensus number reveals where a tier of talent ends.
As a bonus feature, this year’s consensus big board also features a new column called “disparity.” This reveals the biggest difference in a player’s evaluation from one evaluator to another. This can be due to various concerns including injury, off-field or just big differences in opinion on his tape. It will be interesting to see how that number corresponds to the difference in a player’s consensus value and his actual draft position. So without further ado, here is the Consensus Top 100.
