Should Amar'e Stoudemire's contract with the New York Knicks be bought out, the Mavericks are interested in adding the veteran big man. As Jermaine O'Neal continues to prepare himself for a comeback, the Mavs continue to look for another free agent to add size up front.
Stoudemire is in the final year of his contract with the Knicks and wants a place in a team that has a shot at a playoff run. The Mavericks can only afford the veteran minimum, and will have to fend off interest from the likes of Saturday's opponent – the Porland Trail Blazers – but the Mavs present an interesting opportunity for Stoudemire, should he go free.
