There’s no announcement yet, but sources say Michael Young and Darren Oliver will soon be joining the Ranger’s front office.
It’s a surprising turn given the things he’s said about Jon Daniels in the past, but it’s he and Daniels having the conversation about this new job. Young was apparently involved in the meetings Monday when the team interviewed managerial candidates.
The intent is that they’ll bring a contemporary player’s perspective to organizational discussions. They may also be involved in player evaluation and instruction.
