The Dallas Stars making a trade for the second striaght day. Their move right before the deadline is somewhat curious as they add a goalie. One night after giving up three goals in the first 15 minutes, back-up Dan Ellis is traded to Florida for veteran Tim Thomas.
The 39-year-old Thomas is a two-time Vezina Trophy winning goalie and has a Stanley Cup to his credit. He won't be the number one guy here but instead will help push Kari Lehtonen. He also could allows Dallas to give their starting goalie a little more rest down the stretch.
The Stars are eighth in the west. They host the Canucks at 7:30 tonight on Sportsradio 1310 and 96.7 FM The Ticket.
