STARS FALL TO CHICAGO, 5-2, SNAP THREE-GAME WIN STREAK

The Dallas Stars returned home for a brief, one-game homestand between two three-game road trips, but could not take advantage of their opportunities and lost to the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-2 at the American Airlines Center.

The Stars were hampered by an anemic power play, going 0-6 with the man-advantage. Dallas has, in fact, yet to score on the power play at home, going 0-24 thus far during the season.

The Blackhawks' big guns showed up big time on the scoring sheet, with four assists from Patrick Sharp, two goals from Marion Hossa, and a goal and an assist from both Jonathan Toews and  Patrick Kane. Chicago backup Corey Crawford tallied 31 saves. On the Stars' side of the ledger, Cody Eakin and Tyler Seguin tallied goals, and goalie Kari Lehtonen finished with 26 saves.

The Stars now embark on another three-game road trip, this time to Western Canada. They start in Edmonton on Wednesday night.
