The Rangers Alone in First

The Rangers jumping right back into sole possession of first place in the AL West by beating the second place A's 5-1 in Oakland.

Martin Perez the reason for this win. The Rangers rookie lefty giving up just one run in seven innings to win his sixth straight start. Perez the first Ranger to win six consecutive starts since Kenny Rogers in 2005.

And the Texas pitching remains stout, giving up five runs or less for the 31st consecutive game. They are the first AL team to do that since 1972, the last year before the DH was implemented.
