The Rangers Win Without Nellie

The Rangers beginning life without Nelson Cruz by winning, 5-2 against the Angels in Anaheim. Cruz suspended for the rest of the regular season for his ties to the Biogenesis Lab in Florida. To replace him on the roster Engle Beltre and Joey Butler have been called up from Triple-a Round Rock.

On the field last night Beltre plays left field and David Murphy moves over to Cruz's spot in right. Those guys combine to score three of the Rangers five runs.

Martin Perez gives up two runs in 6.1 innings to earn his first win since July 9th. The A's were off, so Texas is now within two games of the AL West lead. Yu Darvish starts at 9:05 tonight in Anaheim.
