A Wasted Night for the Rangers

For the second straight night the Rangers have to use a fill-in starter, and Thursday night they waste it. Ross Wolf needs only 72 pitches to make it through six innings. Wolf allows only two solo home runs among his three hits, but that's enough for the Orioles to beat Texas 3-1.

The Ranger offense suddenly has gone quiet. They manage six singles and only score on a solo home run from Ian Kinsler.

The A's were off so the Rangers are a full game back in the AL West. They open a weekend series in Detroit at 6:05 tonight. Justin Grimm lugs a 5.88 ERA to the mound against the Tigers Doug Fister. Detroit has a 2.5 game lead in the AL Central.
