The last thing the Rangers need is another starter hurt, but that's just what they have. And worse yet, it's Yu Darvish who's the latest on the DL. Darvish sidelined with a tired trapezius muscle in his upper back. His DL stint will be backdated to Sunday, and with the All Star break next week he likely will miss only one start.
The Rangers don't believe this to be anything serious, and they say it has not been a factor in any of his struggles of late. Darvish will attend the All Star game next week but obviously won't pitch.
Filling in for Darvish tonight will be Ross Wolf, making his first start since May 22.
Texas now has four-fifths of their opening day rotation on the DL, and that doesn't even count Colby Lewis who has been out all year. Derek Holland the last man standing in the rotation.
