Profar Propels the Rangers to a Win

Jurickson Profar is on the Rangers Major League roster only because of an injury to Ian Kinsler. Profar doing his part to make this a permanent stay.

Baseball's top prospect launches a tie-breaking solo homer in the bottom of the 8th, leading Texas to a 3-1 win over the Royals. Profar has hit safely in 7 of his 10 games this season and has 4 multi-hit games, raising his batting average to .324.

Yu Darvish throws 7 shutout innings but tires after 99 pitches. Neal Cotts allows his first run of the year in the 8th, but Tanner Scheppers comes on to finish the inning and wins up as the winning pitcher. Joe Nathan pitches the 9th and earns his 17th save.

The Rangers are off Monday. They open a 6 game road trip in Boston Tuesday night with Justin Grimm on the mound. Alexi Ogando is to return from the DL and start on Wednesday.
