See ya, Lowe

Today the Texas Rangers granted righthander Derek Lowe his unconditional release today after designating the pitcher for assignment on Monday. Lowe was DFA'd so Texas could call up righthander Josh Lindblom to make a start. Fans aren't upset to see Lowe gone from the organization. The 38 year old former all-star had an ERA of 9.00 allowing 13 runs in 13 innings early this season.

Texas also signed 31 year old infielder Mark Teahen to a minor league contract. Teahen is a career .264 hitter with 67 homers and 332 RBIs playing for the Royals, Whitesox, and Blue Jays. He last played in the bigs in 2011 with Toronto. Teahen spent last season in the Diamondbacks organization playing in 22 games with triple-A Reno.
