For 13 years Brian Urlacher played middle linebacker for the Chicago Bears. Today he announced his retirement from the NFL. The eight time pro-bowler and 2005 NFL defensive player of the year was let go this off-season for cap-reasons. Urlacher retires as the Bears franchise leader in tackles with 1,779. he is one of four players to register more that 40 sacks and 20 interceptions since 1982.
Urlacher says he feels he could have continued playing, but he felt that he wouldn't give the same effort for another team and is happy to play in just one jersey for 13 seasons.
