The Rangers making multiple roster moves on Monday, starting with the re-call of Josh Lindblom from Triple-A Round Rock. To make room for Lindblom veteran reliever Derek Lowe was designated for assignment. Texas has 10 days to trade Lowe, release him, or outright him to the minors.
Lindblom's stay on the big league roster short-lived. After giving up 4 runs in 4.2 innings and taking the loss against the A's he was optioned back to the minors. Third catcher Robinson Chirinos also sent down to make room for A.J. Pierzynski. Pierzynski has been on the 15 day DL with a strained oblique muscle, but he's ready to roll after a two game re-hab stint at Double-A Frisco. It's unclear yet what pitcher will be called up to replace Lindblom.
It will not be Colby Lewis. The veteran starter gives up 2 runs in 2.1 innings in a re-hab start for Frisco and says he's not ready yet to get Major League hitters out.
