The Rangers placed second baseman Ian Kinsler on the 15-day disabled list with a right intercostal strain this afternoon and recalled infielder Jurickson Profar from Triple-A Round Rock. Profar will be in uniform tonight for the game against the Tigers.
Kinsler did not start the past two games due to the injury, but he did appear as a pinch-runner Friday night. He will be eligible to come off the DL on June 2.
Profar, who is 20, has spent the entire season thus far at Round Rock, batting .278 with four home runs and 19 RBI. He played for the Rangers in the AL Wild Card Game against the Orioles last season, and went 3-for-17 with a homer in a nine-game appearance during the regular season.
