The HP Byron Nelson Championship is on the move, but not for a few years. The 2013 version of the tournament starts up Thursday morning at the Four Seasons Resort and Country Club in Las Colinas Thursday morning. But in 6 years to tournament is heading back to Dallas.
Nelson officials agreeing to move the PGA Tour event to the new Trinity Forest golf course that's being developed in South Dallas along Loop 12, east of I-45.
The Byron Nelson was last played in Dallas at Preston Trail Golf Club. It moved to the TPC at the Four Seasons in Las Colinas in 1983. The Trinity Forest project is a group effort among the city of Dallas, future Nelson title sponsor AT&T, SMU, and the First Tee of Greater Dallas.
